Colin Shaddick Remembers

I Was Taken To The Ranch

Ron Whitehead,
you were on the Not Knowing tour,
and standing by a roadside
outside Hunter S Thompson’s ranch.
You were reading your poetry and singing
Going Down That Road Feelin’ Bad.
---------------That time was meant to be.
---------------That time was meant to be.
Even from a short video clip,
viewed from across the Atlantic,
I could see and feel the love
for Hunter S Thompson.
There was a lot of love in that image.

---------------Going down that road feelin’ bad?

---------------Going down that road feelin’?

---------------
Going down that road?

We sure as hell will be!
We’ll be going down that road.
Maybe not in the same footsteps
as Hunter S Thompson,
but we’ll be taking it just the same.
God bless Hunter S Thompson.
---------------God bless Ron Whitehead
---------------for taking me to the ranch.
I Will Not Bow Down …

Colin Shaddick.
