The War Poets Tour 2003
- Life During Wartime -
"Poetry Amidst a World of Struggle"

In the early Spring of 2003, Ron Whitehead, NYC poet, Frank Messina and fellow Kentuckyians Andy Cook and Sarah Elizabeth crossed the Atlantic to perform in Iceland, The UK and Ireland.

The War Poets did shows in Reykjavik, Durham, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Dublin. The last War Poet to arrive back to the USA was Frank Messina. He watched the first bombs light the early morning sky of Baghdad in the JFK airport terminal before he even got his luggage.

Without loss of stride, Ron, Andy and Sarah made home to Kentucky and were joined by David Amram to finish up the CD "Kentucky Blues."

Frank Messina was not at a loss for much to do on getting back, the next gig up was the 10th Anniversary Celebration with his ensemble "Spoken Motion" at The Bowery Poetry Club in NYC.
